Lepanthes sp.



Comprada como Lepanthes cercion, mas não me parece nada...

Pleurothallids are so interesting, but I keeping getting the wrong species to grow. Can you recommend any that I can grow here in Singapore ? The climate is similar to Amapá, Amazonas or Pará lowlands I guess.

Well I wouldn't know about the climate in Brazil, Sean, I live in Portugal! And I don't have the best conditions to grow Pleuros either, but some genera are easier than others. I find Scaphosepalum and Restrepia very accomodating, the warmer growing masdies are easy too, some Pleurothallis (like grobyi, sonderana or scurrula). Lepanthes are much more sensitive - probably because they are usually really small.
I think humidity is the key, even more than temperature. If you manage to keep the plants moist, and rh above 60%, they will survive higher temps.
